Prologue
Hey everyone,
With only a few days left before I hop on that plane on Tuesday, itās about time I write a little prologue for my journey. Or well, maybe not a prologue, but more like a rough overview of whatās coming up. But I thought “Prolog” sounded cool, so here we go!
Yesterday, I said a heavy-hearted goodbye to Aachen and dove straight into my first adventure: surviving the German Railway (DB) during Carnival weekend on Friday the 13th. But guess what? I made it, and Iām back home safe and sound.
On Tuesday the 17th, Iām off to Santiago de Chile. Iāll probably explore the city for a bit before heading to the coast. (No concrete plans for the first week yet, but hey, I still have a few days, right? ^^) More importantly: my semester at USM (Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria) starts in March. Everything with the uni is settled, and I even found a room in a shared flat ā randomly with another student from RWTH! Iāll be based in ValparaĆso until July. After that, once Iāve (hopefully) passed all my exams, Iāll just follow my wanderlust wherever it takes me until my gut tells me itās time to head back to Germany. Iām dreaming of Southern Chile, then heading north through Bolivia to Peru.
Iām super excited, and my to-do list for the next few days is still huge (post this, fix my luggage, get insurance, make Plan Bs and Cs…), but I canāt wait for the moment Iām finally in my seat on the plane. Thatās when Iāll say: “It doesn’t matter how much I got done, Iāll just deal with things as they come. Itās gonna be fine!” (Fake it till you make it, right?!)
Okay, thatās enough for today. Iām gonna enjoy my last days on German soil with my mom and my friends. Youāll hear from me again soon. See ya!
